# How do I detect if I've lost authority over a CoherenceSync object?

**Question**  
_OnStateAuthority_ can be listened to whenever I want to know when I have acquired state authority over a _CoherenceSync_ object. But is there a good way to listen for when I have lost the state authority?

**Answer**  
Yes, there is. It’s a similar event, called _OnStateRemote_.
